The great thing about Facebook is the abilty to add witty and funny Facebook statuses. It’s great to get a laugh out of your friends and have them asking for so many more funny and creative Facebook statues quotes.

Funny Facebook status

One liners are great for your Facebook status box. They are short and to the point. Also you can use one liners like the choices below from your phone also. All you have to do is copy and paste these funny quotes in your “what are you doing box” and await for laughs and many responses.

I myself have enjoyed using these funny one liners. My friends enjoy reading them and have begun to use some of them in their own pages. Try these out today.

Funny Facebook statuses

Example : I was born to be a pessimist. My blood type is B negative.

Being B negative is very rare so this is very funny. It is a very funny and very true. Your blood type much like your zodiac sign can really tell a lot about you. It describes your life and your soul. This funny little one liner is both realistic and a true pleasure to use.

Example: I’ve been on so many blind dates; I should get a free dog.

When it comes to dating it’s not easy to find a date. So I often ask for friends and family to find me someone to go out with. Many people think that after you buy a lot of something you should get something free. Many stores actually honor and reward this policy. So why not with blind dates. However if your friends aren’t single they may not understand this quote very well.

Example : I bet you I could stop gambling

Gambling can be a real problem for many people and humor is a way many doctors advice gamblers to over come that difficult time. Some times people just can’t stop and laughing about their issues makes it seem less of an issue. It’s best to use this around friends who aren’t addicted to gambling. You never know if they will become offended or not. Better safe than sorry.

These are just some of the many funny and unique Facebook statuses. Try one or all of them in your Facebook status box today!

Some people may not accept it, but folk put a huge amount of their time and energy into their Facebook statuses. I’m not convinced if Facebook has finally defeated Twitter, or if Twitter is worse than Facebook…but whatever is true, it seems that if someone can not write a funny Facebook status on their home feed, then they don’t write anything at all.

Different types of funny Facebook status

But funny updates are not the only type of status update. In my time on Facebook I have encountered various breeds and ilks of message grow and disappear – and now that there is no need for adding your own name in the Facebook status message – there is much more flexibility regarding what type of message you can add to your Facebook status update.

So here are 5 different genres of Facebook update – which of these do you generally use?

The cool Facebook status

Now becoming more and more popular, the ‘cool’ Facebook status update is one which includes lots of symbols or characters which you can uncover by entering hidden keypress combinations on your number pad or keyboard. When people see these Facebook statuses they say ‘omg…epic…how is that possible?’ and then they erase it from their mind and go back to work…

The amusing Facebook status

Since Facebook removed the requirement to insert your own christian name in statuses, more and more funny lines and one-liners have started appearing inside the wall feed messages. They range from the tasteless, to the ridiculous, to the side-splitting.

The status of the philosopher

Facebook is amazingly popular with College and University graduates throughout the globe, and if there is one thing that people who study appreciate (except for getting wildly intoxicated and tasting prescription drugs) it is assuming the role of philosophers. What better way to make the public think your brain is capable of unique thoughts than by copying a quote someone who has been dead for 300 years? Exactly.

The ironic Facebook update

Due to the limited space in the Facebook status update box, witty puns or jokes have started becoming more and more popular. Short, to the point and can make people laugh out loud!

Romantic statuses

As Facebook becomes more a tool used for worldwide communication and helping people stay in touch, increasing numbers of people are using it to chat with family members and buddies around the globe. No communication application would be complete without slushy, tearjerking status messages from lovers who are pining for oneanother from a huge distance…

Anyway, there you have them – cool, amusing, sarcastic, thoughtful and romantic. Which one are you? Don’t deceive yourself now…be truthful!

Welcome to my intro about the history of the funny Facebook status and its place in the world of social networking and marketing today! Read on for part one of a brief history, the next parts are coming soon! I have been using Facebook for five years, and over that amount of time I’ve seen it change a lot. From its humble beginnings as a Harvard social network to keep students in touch with each other, it has grown exponentially to become the biggest social network in the world and also one of the biggest websites in the world. How has it done this? By constantly adapting to change in the marketplace of what people need from their ‘go-to’ social network.

Funny Facebook statuses – Their history

One of the things which kept Facebook apart from its rivals (like Myspace, Hi5 and Friendster) was the appearance and usage of status update messages. These lines were featured on people’s home pages or profile pages, and they would describe exactly what someone is doing or thinking at any one time. You could change this status update as many times as you want, and it began a new trend of ‘social micro blogging’. It was something which would then be harnessed by the likes of Twitter, who built an entire empire around the concept of leaving small messages for people to read and comment on. ——- This is part one of a brief history of Facebook and its status update system. Check the blog again for more info about where the funny Facebook status was born and how it came to be an important part of the marketing mix today!

One small issue remained, however. The format of theFacebook status was such that people had to write in the following format:

User is XXXXX.

Where XXXXX stands for the activity or verb which they wanted to highlight. What’s the problem? Well, it meant that people had to use very strange phrases in order to get their messages across. It also meant that people had to talk in the ‘third person’, which meant that they often sounded quite annoying and egotistical. Twitter, on the other hand, was not using this style and just had a simple empty box for people to write in. The result was that Twitter’s popularity grew and Facebook had to rely on its other core products (such as photo sharing and their longer ‘notes’) to stay ahead of the competition.

Funny Facebook statuses

Then, with a ‘revamp’ of their site, Facebook took the bold step of removing the necessity to write in third person and, even more importantly, took away the ‘name’ at the beginning of the box. The Facebook status went from amusing sidebar to one of the most powerful social media messengers out there. The popularity grew overnight, as suddenly people could put funny Facebook statuses in their home feed and they would be ‘pushed’ out to all of their friends.
